Elk are members of the Cervidae family, which includes caribou, deer and moose. Like their relatives, elk have massive antlers and long legs with cloven hooves. Elk are herbivores, which means they only eat vegetation. Their diet changes depending on the year, eating grasses in the summer and woody growth in the winter months. They prefer dandelions, violets, hawkweed, aster, clover and mushrooms as their favorite treats. Elk are also called wapiti. This is a Native American word meaning "light-colored deer," according to National Geographic. They are also called red deer. Elk are most active during mornings and evenings. During the summer, elk will often migrate to higher, cooler, elevations and migrate to lower elevations in the winter.

Though the scientific name translates to “American antelope goat” the pronghorns are in fact more deer-like and are the only animals having branched horns (not antlers). The name “Pronghorn” comes from the odd shape of their horns – forward facing prongs. Female horns are smaller than males. In the late fall or the beginning of winter, the horns will break off to make room for the new ones already starting to grow in. Pronghorns are roamers and like to feed off of the grasses and other shrubbery they live near. Unlike cheetahs, pronghorns have good endurance even at high speeds. Their main predators are coyotes. Unlike deer they cannot leap the fences that humans have been putting up around the grasslands, and instead crawl underneath them. This reduction of their habitat is becoming a concern. The most amazing part of it all is their endurance and speed. With long, skinny legs that let them take larger strides, and a large heart and lungs that allow them more oxygen, the pronghorns can last longer while running distances.

This House Is Full Of Antelope

about

This Eno-inspired ambient album was conceptualized as being set to the backdrop of an pacific northwestern forest over the course of a cold Autumn day. It was created on vintage synth gear and tracked on analogue hardware, the most prevalent instruments being the Roland D-110 (tracks 2, ii and iii), the Korg Electribe EA-1 (tracks 1 and i) and a Mexican Fender Strat running through a Boss DD-7 (tracks 1 and i.)

It can be played at listening volume, for an immersive soundscape experience, or at low volume, for a discreet, creativity inducing backdrop for work or relaxation.

This album was created solely using analogue gear, then assembled and mastered digitally in adobe audition.

"Insanely Morbid" and "Beyond impressive" raves critic Dean K.
